Junior Church
There is a lively and enthusiastic Junior Church at Salisbury U.R.C.
We join the congregation for the first fifteen minutes of the service on a Sunday
morning and then meet in our groups. At present we have two groups: younger
children, aged from 3-11 and young people, aged from 11 up. There is also a crèche
for the under 3's.
We follow the programme in the ecumenical resource, “Roots” each Sunday. Each session usually has a Bible story as its basis. Our activities include stories, songs, art & craft and drama.
We also participate in all-age services in the Church and sometimes lead them.
At Easter, Harvest and Christmas we visit Westwood House, a warden-controlled housing complex
for the elderly. There we lead a short act of worship for the residents.

light to the world.
We usually have an outing in the summer. We have been to Hengistbury Head, Moors Valley
Country Park and Finkley Down Farm in previous years. This is a great opportunity for the
leaders and children to have a fun day out together.
Junior Church have participated in various other activities in the Church; from the “Wash for
Dosh” for Christian Aid, when the congregation had their cars washed during the service,
for a fee, to clearing the overgrown graveyard at Broadchalke U.R.C. We are always keen
to participate in Church projects and events.
The older children and young people made a set of brilliant pictures about the Creation,
which now hang in the Church Lounge.
We always welcome new children and young people to our Junior Church
